The Family Festival has been a wonderful celebration of entertainment; fun games, fabulous food and country living all centred around the village green, with marquees and stalls. It was a fun weekend for the whole community to gather, take part or simply enjoy and soak up the atmosphere.  We had over 3,500 people a day attend the weekend activities.

The theme for the festival was ‘BUGS & BEETLES’ which was a great choice for all the family!

Review a highlight of the Events:

	FRENCH MARKET - ‘MARCHE DE FRANCE’ We were delighted to welcome a great French Market to the Festival. There was a fantastic arrange of products presented on the street market, including:
Food Stalls: BREAD and VIENNOISERIE baked on site, CHEESES (many types of cow, goat & ewe’s cheeses from all regions of France), SMOKED HAM (speciality made in Normandy), CHARCUTERIE (many sorts of pâtés, garlic sausages, dry sausages…), OLIVES & OLIVE OIL FRUITS SECS & TURKISH DELIGHTS, GARLIC & ONIONS, BISCUITS from Brittany with Apple and Calvados Fondant homemade cakes, MUSTARDS, SAUCES and SPICES, CASSOULETS, FOIE GRAS & FISH SOUPS, JAMS and FRUITY SYRUPS PANCAKES (a great range of crepes) & WAFFLES, SWEETS & PEANUTS, WINES, CIDER, CALVADOS and APPLE JUICE from a Norman producer.	Craft Stalls: SAVONS de MARSEILLE & LAVANDER - PROVENCAL TABLECLOTHES, Scented POTS POURRI and dried flowers - PLASTIC COATED TABLECLOTHS, JEWELLERY - LEATHER HANDBAGS, PURSES, SCHOOLBAGS and ARTICLES of CLOTHING.
	BUGS & BEETLES SCULPTURE COMPETITION A great opportunity for everyone to take part in a fun sculpture competition that had classes for different age groups plus local businesses
	THE CULTURE TENT An very interesting mix of Indian Culture, Cottenham Back Then, Slavery, Archaeology Display, Wool Worm Spinning & a Traditional Romany Caravan.
	JUNIOR BAND COMPETITION A super collection of young band talent on show with a mixture of styles and sounds.
	YOUTH ZONE - ‘BUGGED’ An exclusive zone for the youth created entirely by them.
	COLOUR DOME The spectacular ColourDome offered a fantastic visual experience for both children and adults. ColourDome is a walk-in structure of colour and light from the same makers as the famous Colourscape labyrinth structures. Visitors experienced a journey of intense colour with musical performances from traditional world music through to contemporary electro-acoustic.
	PRE SCHOOL FUN – COTTENHAM TOY LIBRARY Another very successful action packed weekend for everyone concerned!
	PTA MID SUMMER DANCE AND HOG ROAST A crackin evening with great music from Superstition, a hog roast and a few alcoholic beverages consumed for good measure
	CRAZY NED - BOUNCY HORSE RACING Inflatable horses that were raced down a track, taking centre stage on the green.

These were just a small selection of activities that were happening during the weekend.  We are all now looking forward to the event in 2009 so please support us in anyway you can and let’s make the next Festival another special weekend for all the Fen Edge Community.
