Willingham Churches - Open Days
Willingham Parish Church, St Mary and All Saints, will be part of the network of churches opening its doors during the festival. The church has many historical features dating from 13th and early 14th centuries, although Saxon and Norman remnants can be seen from an earlier church on the same site.
The interior walls of the church were extensively painted and remain a feature following restoration including St Etheldreda, who founded the monastery at Ely in 672, dating from around 1244. A well researched model of medieval Willingham will also be on display. Further information can be found at www.willinghamchurch.org and a history of the village at www.willinghamlife.org.
